WHY CHOOSE A FIREPROOF TARP?


The tarpaulin has undergone a series of tests in order to be approved “M2” by the National Test Laboratory.

  • Some large construction sites, particularly in places open to the public, require the use of fireproof equipment.
  • Its treatment reduces the absorption of the sun's rays, offering greater thermal comfort.
  • As an individual, you may be required by your insurance to choose a fireproof tarpaulin.
  • In certain conditions, many standards are required and in the event of a claim, your insurer could require that the tarpaulin used complies with fire standards.


In France there is a classification (Standard NF P. 92. 507), made up of 5 categories, which defines the reaction to fire of materials: it goes from M0 (non-flammable) to M4 (easily flammable).

FIXING AND USE ADVICE


This tarpaulin is designed to last up to 15 years, but its lifespan depends on the impeccable quality of its installation. To prevent tearing of the eyelets or tearing of the canvas, here are our recommendations:

  • The tarpaulin must be well stretched and tilted to avoid wind resistance and water pockets.
  • We recommend the use of professional quality 9 mm diameter bungee cord.
  • For large dimensions (beyond 40 square meters), it is recommended to nail battens to the tarpaulin, or to pass steel cables above and below to reinforce its support.
